MUSCLE BALANCE ANALYSIS
Sydney, 19-20 November 2011
Melbourne 25-26 February 2012
Spaces Strictly Limited for Quality Learning
Paving the way to long-term pain relief & improved biomechanics of the foot
Much of the course is based on extensive research by Drs. Travell & Simons and includes detailed structural and postural analysis with precise techniques developed over 17 years of clinical practice and teaching by the founder of MBA Pain Relief, and author of the popular & informative book “Pain Relief for Life, ” Al Skrobisch, CNMT, CHom. Muscle Balance Analysis will give you the skills to confidently discover and resolve pain-creating muscular imbalances in human posture and correct for structural asymmetries that have previously gone undetected.
You’ll learn how to unravel the mysteries of chronic pain, that can be a major cause of postural distortion, and in turn a rich source of severe chronic or persistent knee, hip, or foot pain, as well as bunions and arch and gait dysfunction. Learn how postural
distortion, results in chronic or persistent foot pain and injury, as well as decreased athletic performance.

Conference Registration and information
The following link we take you to the ASBHM Conference website (online registration is at the bottom of the page):
The ASBHM brings together behavioural and biomedical science researchers and practitioners from diverse disciplines such as psychology, sports science, public health, dietetics, medicine and nursing with a common goal to develop behaviour change strategies that support optimal health. The conference will address strategies to achieve health equity, translation of research into policy and practice and evaluation and intervention strategies at the individual, community and population levels.
KINESIOLOGY AND POWER TAPING WORKSHOP - 23rd MARCH 2012
Date: Friday 23rd March 2012, 1pm to 5.30pm
Course Includes: Power Taping Manual and 2 X ROCKTAPE rolls
Cost: Practitioners (APA NSW members) - $150, (non APA NSW members) - $300
Students (APA NSW members) - $100, (non APA NSW members) - $200
POWER TAPING WILL PROVIDE YOUR ATHLETES WITH AN EDGE OVER
THEIR OPPONENTS THROUGH ENHANCED PERFORMANCE.
ROCKTAPE’s half day workshop teaches kinesiology taping principles using an “open source” philosophy - we don’t believe there is only one correct way to tape. Participants will learn the principles that can then be applied to their own individual patients.
ROCKTAPE has also developed a new protocol for taping called “Power Taping”. This movement based taping technique embraces the concept of muscles acting together as a chain as opposed to in isolation.
The aims of applying ROCKTAPE to a specific muscle group are to:
- Modulate muscle activation
- Promote blood flow to the muscles
- Promote lymphatic drainage
- Assist in the removal of lactic acid
- Improve kinesthetic awareness
These functions provide the athlete with additional endurance and
promote recovery.
ROCKTAPE is also used to promote a faster recovery for athlete’s soft
tissue and joint injuries by providing support and stability, while
increasing blood flow.
Course outline - emphasis towards lower limb for podiatry applications. - Introduction to Kinesiology Taping
- Rehab Specific Taping
- Oedema/Inflammation Taping
- Postural Control Taping
- Functional Movement Analysis
- Power Taping (introduction)
- Sport Performance Taping
(introduction)
