Podiatrists are qualified health professionals specialising in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of disorders, medical and surgical conditions of the feet and lower limbs.

The Podiatrist's Scope of Practice includes paediatrics, diabetes, sports injuries, structural problems, treatment of the elderly as well as general foot care. The complex mechanics of feet (52 bones, a network of muscles, joints and ligaments) and a wide range of foot problems (over 200 identified conditions) demand professional expertise.

Our members practise under a strict code of ethics set by the Association and adhere to compulsory guidelines on infection control of the NSW Department of Health. Get involved in the podiatry discussion and related issues on LinkedIn.
